The Beginning

of Sumit Nagal’s Tennis Journey

Sumit Nagal began his tennis journey at the young age of eight. His passion and relentless ambition soon led him to renowned training camps where he honed his skills. In 2015, he won the doubles title at the Wimbledon Juniors – a milestone that propelled his name into the tennis world.

Nadal or Nagal? – Sumit’s Professional Career

After his breakthrough in the junior circuit, Sumit Nagal continued his career on the ATP Tour with the support of the nensel academy. Since 2018, our coaches Sascha Nensel and Milos Galecic have been working successfully with him.

In 2019, Sumit made headlines worldwide when he played in the popular night session of the US Open against tennis giant Roger Federer. Although he lost the match, he impressed with his fighting spirit and won the first set. Memes about the “confusion between Rafael Nadal and Sumit Nagal” began circulating on the internet.

In 2020, Sumit achieved his first victory in the main draw of a Grand Slam. In the following years, he accumulated more points on the ATP Tour, winning several ATP Challenger titles, which led to his breakthrough into the Top 100 in February 2024.
